About Salerno’s

Vince and Ida Salerno migrated from Calabria, Italy to Chicago, Illinois in 1956 in hopes of a better life and to live the American dream. In 1966 Vince and his brother Arnie opened a small bar in Berwyn Illinois.

After a few years they expanded and started Salerno’s Restaurant specializing in homemade Italian dishes and Chicago style pizza. In the years to follow brothers Joe and Adam came into the family business and opened more Salerno restaurants in the Chicago area. Vince, his son Rosario and the rest of their immidiate family moved to Arizona in hopes of starting their own Salerno’s Restaurant and introducing homemade italian food and chicago style pizza to Arizona residents.

In May 2004 Salerno’s in Gilbert, AZ opened with three generations of the Salerno family running it. In 2006, the Salerno family branched out and started Catering to local venues and private events.
